What is IDA

IDA is a national center funded by the Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation. The center has previously been based at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen and since 1 January 2014 IDA has been situated at Aarhus University.

As research opportunities appear on an almost daily basis it is vital for Danish astrophysics that IDA can play an important role in recommending specific plans of action on the different issues in relation to this. Hence the focal point of IDA is to secure the Danish representation-, target the Danish strategic collaboration with the different international organizations and achieve the maximum benefit for Danish science.

You can find the description of IDA 2017-2019 (in danish only) here.

The overall responsibility of the center rests with the Head of IDA, Hans Kjeldsen, and the general matters of IDA are decided by Hans Kjeldsen in consultance with the IDA Advisory Board consisting of 8 members representing Danish Astrophysics.

The day-to-day management of IDA is run by the IDA coordinator Louise Børsen-Koch
