National meeting regarding the E-ELT instrument project

IDA invites you to participate in a national meeting in relations to the Danish participation in an E-ELT instrument project.

The IDA Board has decided to organize a national meeting to discuss the Danish participation in an E-ELT instrument project. Denmark is investing 72 MDKK in this project via National and Institutional (KU/AU/DTU) funding and the universities therefore have an obligation to actively participate in this project. IDA recognizes that Denmark, being a small ESO member, can realistically only participate in one such project.

The meeting will be divided into three sessions; one devoted to an introduction to the E-ELT and its planned/proposed instrumentation, another devoted to contributed science talks relating to the usage of the E-ELT. A third session will be allocated to a structured discussion on the Danish participation. It is the aim of the meeting to reach a conclusion which will allow the IDA Board to take the next step in engaging Denmark in a an E-ELT instrument project on their up-coming meeting in June.

The meeting is open for anybody working in the field of Astronomy/Astrophysics. We call for contributions to this meeting, but please note that we have limited time and that we therefore have to coordinate contributions.

For more information please contact Michael I. Andersen (Michael.ingemann.andersen@googlemail.com)

For registration as well as talk submission please send an e-mail to ida@phys.au.dk

Note that the meeting is open for participation via the internet. Please state if you wish to participate online when you register.

IDA will cover all travel costs.
